Guess the year…

Knockin’ around in the shop the other day, I came across this old sign. Apparently, the first businesses the Woodfin family built out of this space included a blacksmith, an auto repair shop and a gas station. When the gas station venture retired, this sign was pulled down and hung up in a back room…exactly as you see it.

So…what year do you think that was?

(hint: It’s the year Hawaii became our 50th state and the first pictures of Earth were taken from Space)

The year was 1959!! This picture was retired just before the sign was retired - you can see it in the background. We’re still in the same location, though…Hull Street Road has changed!
