FAQs

Why should I replace my fuel-powered engine with electric?

Do you want to save up to 65% in operating and maintenance costs? Do you want your equipment to run quieter and longer? Do you want to serve your communities and/or clients in the most healthy and sustainable way?

Replacing your diesel engine with an electric system delivers all of that.

Consider this…for every diesel engine you take off the road, you’re eliminating approximately the same amount of CO2 emissions from the environment as is generated when 7.5 acres of the Amazon is cleared through burning. That’s a significant impact we can make in our own backyards.

Do electric engines support a/c and power steering?

Absolutely.

How do you charge electrified equipment?

One charger is included with every electrification (you can purchase additional chargers if needed). You can use a standard 120 volt(V) home outlets (Level 1), 208-240V outlets like those used by your dryer (Level 2), or dedicated 480V+ public fast chargers (DC Fast Charging) to charge your equipment. The time it takes to charge using each of these three options will vary. 480V fast chargers are the quickest and will charge your engine in less than an hour.

How long does the charge last?

Your machine will work between 6-8 hours - that’s IN ADDITION to any idling (‘cause there is none). The electric system turns off until engaged, so the amount time your equipment will hold a charge in the field will depend on how often your equipment is actually running.

What types of grants/credits are available to me if I electrify my equipment?

Great question…click here for information about federal and state level electrification grants.

How long will it take to retro-fit my equipment with an electric engine?

It takes about 3 months (once we take possession) to fully refurb and electrify one truck or piece of equipment. We highly recommend getting in our queue to ensure you have what you need for leaf season.

Is there a floor model I can see?

Yes!! We have a working model at our Richmond, VA shop. Give us a call to schedule an appointment (we love visitors).

Is there a warranty on my new electric engine?

Absolutely. Our warranty covers the cost of defective parts and/or the labor to replace or repair. Damage that occurs as a result of normal wear and tear is not covered. Delivery to and from our shop is the responsibility of the owner - but we can help schedule!

Can you electrify other equipment outside of leaf/debris collection?

We can! Give us a call to discuss.

Can I get my equipment electrified without a refurb?

Every piece of equipment we retro-fit for electrification will also undergo our 80+ point reconditioning program - the Really Good Refurb. If your equipment is less than 2 years old, give us a call to discuss options.

Is delivery included in the refurb/electrification fee?

Shipping is not included, but we can provide a quote to pick your equipment up and deliver it back to you if you’d like for us to handle that.
